[OpenLayers-Dev] Protocol.HTTP callback

Is it possible to use callback option of OpenLayers.Protocol.HTTP for
custom user's callbacks?
I've tried to debug one app and have discovered that callback option is
overriden by OpenLayers.Strategy.BBOX.merge function in my case.
