I have trouble with document.createElementNS and XMLSerializer which

Tim's "XML" branch is designed to fix this. There is no timeframe yet
for when this is going to trunk, though 2.5 will block on it, as far as
I'm concerned.
I'll let Tim answer whether the current code is in a state to be used,
