 A first inspection of the behavior of another large map provider:-)

  * The spike of the cloud is completely mouse transparent.
  * The body of the cloud is nontransparent, including the visually
 transparent rounded corners.

 The smallest rectangle that contains the body of the cloud is
 nontransparent for the mouse,  rest is transparent.

 Seems to be ok at first glance.
