[OpenLayers-Users] Database Back End for open layers

Hi Folks,

A couple of newbie questions - I'm thinking of integrating openlayers into a
phpmap project.

Are there any database applications - perl / php or whatever - that use
openLayers?

Is there a perl or php API for integrating openLayers into a website?  e.g.
like the GoogleMapsAPI for php?
