Hi,

I do not know, if I'll ask question, which makes sence... When
displaying google maps as background for WMS map, which uses epsg:4326
projection, the top map is "reprojected", so it fits Google's mercator
projection -- As I'm in 48° to 51° latitude region, it would be nice, if
the WMS map would be kind of "stretched" even without underlying Google
map.

I have following example:
WMS request, which comes from OpenLayers formulates this URL:
http://bnhelp.netart.cz/cgi-bin/crtopo?LAYERS=kraje,les,sidla,voda,doprava&FORMAT=image/png&SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.1.1&REQUEST=GetMap&SRS=EPSG:4326&BBOX=11.642744,48.573916,17.685225,51.320498&WIDTH=110&HEIGHT=50

requested image size is WIDTH=110&HEIGHT=50

If I change this to WIDTH=110&HEIGHT=75, resulting image looks "more
nicer".
http://bnhelp.netart.cz/cgi-bin/crtopo?LAYERS=kraje,les,sidla,voda,doprava&FORMAT=image/png&SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.1.1&REQUEST=GetMap&SRS=EPSG:4326&BBOX=11.642744,48.573916,17.685225,51.320498&WIDTH=110&HEIGHT=75

So the question is, how to apply this "googlish-reprojection" for normal
(wms/mapserver) layer?

Thanks for any hint

Jachym
