Hello all,

Just letting people know, I've just posted version 0.1 of an
OpenLayers-based MediaWiki extension called Semantic Layers.

MediaWiki, for those that don't know, is the PHP server-side software
that powers Wikipedia, and is freely available to use on your own
"wiki" site.

Semantic Layers is an extension for MediaWiki that lets users easily
add OpenLayers maps to wiki pages. It also ties in with another
extension called "Semantic MediaWiki" (which adds structured data
support to MediaWiki), and together they let users add georeferenced
data to wiki pages and then to perform queries on data resident in
the wiki.

Its probably simplest to understand if you see it in action, so a
demo wiki is available at http://s89238293.onlinehome.us/w/ . I'm
still in the process of fleshing out the documentation, but you can
figure out most of it by looking at the live demos.

Enjoy! Feel free to post any comments on the wiki "talk" pages.

-Matt
