[OpenLayers-Users] Tiles monitoring for layers?

Hello List,

Is there any way to monitor Tiles loading in layer,
there is an example in http://svn.openlayers.org/trunk/openlayers/ 
but unfortunately thats not working for other sanboxes or OL 2.4

I might be wrong please correct me.
