[OpenLayers-Users] Need Explanation of destroyFeatures()

 From the API online docs it appears that Layer.Vector.destroyFeatures() 
takes two arguments. The first is optional and if you leave it off, then 
all features in the vector layer are destroyed. But there's nothing 
mentioned about the second parameter, options. Is it optional? How do 
you use it? Can someone please show me a working example?
