[OpenLayers-Users] Is there an equivalent to GTileLayer?

In Gmap we can call "GTileLayer" and "GTileLayer.getTileUrl"  to implement a
custom map. Are there corresponding functions in Openlayers?  Is there a way
to duplicate this?
