[OpenLayers-Users] Custom XML

Hi Guys,
 
has anyone managed to load a custom XML to display markers and Polylines?
 
my XML currently looks like this
 
<marker>
    <id></id>
    <lat></lat>
    <lng></lng>
    <icon></icon>
    <title></title>
    <description></description>
</marker>
 
What I am trying to do is the following....
 
read the XML and place the markers on the map, (with framedCloud popup
autosize)
and it should also draw a line between the points
 
Please if anyone has any examples it would be greatly appreciated
