[OpenLayers-Users] Stretch-zooming in OpenLayers?

Does OpenLayers have the ability to stretch previously loaded tiles at 
one zoom level while retrieving the tiles for the target zoom level, to 
make the zooming appearance smoother?   Ie similar to the way Google 
Maps works?  If so, is there an example of this?
