[OpenLayers-Users] enabling map.fractionalZoom crashes SphericalMercator layers (Google/Yahoo and maybe others)

Hmm ok. On that note, what other map APIs out there support fractional zoom?
I'm guessing none?
If that feature is absolutely crucial in our application, do we have to
construct our own maps (base layers) that support fractional zoom?
