[OpenLayers-Users] Validating WMS capabilities ?

I'm new to the list, so I apologize if this is a no-brainer. I couldn't 
find an answer in the list archive, though.

I'm trying to utilize a wms service of my own creation (in php), and it 
works in other scenarios.

However, when I direct the OpenLayers client to it, it aborts after 
reading the capabilities document. I can see from my service logging 
that a "getmap" request never arrives, and also that a full capabilities 
document was returned in the "getcapabilities" request.

I'm pretty blank as to how to find out why OpenLayers doesn't like my 
capabilities document, and cannot find any reference to any error 
logging. I just get an "object not set" gui error.

I'm using OpenLayers 2.8 with Map Suite Web Edition, if that makes any 
difference.

I'm still using the 1.1.0 specs for wms. Could that be the problem ?
