[OpenLayers-Users] Automatic smooth zoom

Oops, didn't read that correctly.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think openlayers really supports that. The google.v3 layer (http://dev.openlayers.org/docs/files/OpenLayers/Layer/Google/v3-js.html) supports "animated" zooms, e.g. http://imapinvasives.org/nyimi/map/, but I believe that's the extent of it.

Thanks, thats one step in the good direction. But I also need to zoom in, and panning doesn't do that...

I believe the function you want is Map.panTo().

Subject: [OpenLayers-Users] Automatic smooth zoom

Hi,

I would like to zoom into a certain extent on an openlayers map after a
click event. When I use map.SetCenter() the map is immediately changed into
the new extent. What I want is to show an automatic animated zoom from the
old extent to the new extent.

Thanks in advance,

Jelmer Oosthoek
