[OpenLayers-Users] Invoke Rerendering of Vector Object

I have a LineFeature object.
I change the style of the object (e.g. my_line.style.strokeColor="Black").
But the colour doesn't change on the screen until I zoom in/out (i.e. 
rerender).
How do I tell the vector it needs to rerender?
