[OpenLayers-Users] Customization

Hi there,

I thought I had a good knowledge on Javascript until I faced OL.
After developing a number of web apps dealing with JS managed html forms, I
wrongly believed I was ready for OL.

Ok, with some effort I manage to understand the examples and the API
documentation. Nevertheless I am not able to figure out how all that
customization stuff works. 

Does it exist a readable, comprehensive guide to overriding, subclassing and
prototype customization?
If so I'll appreciate a link.
