[OpenLayers-Users] GIS methodology

Hi everibody, exist some methology to develop a GIS application , like RUP, CMMI or other, because i need to knowit and understand it to develop an application that involve geoserver,postgres,extJs,GeoExt and postgis and RUP or CMMI but they does not adapt theirself to GIS  well, i need help, thanks for all.
