[OpenLayers-Users] Way to mask raster WMS layers

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way to mask raster layers that are loaded 
via WMS (OpenLayers.Layer.WMS). What I am thinking of is a case where 
for all pixels that are withing a certain range make them transparent.
