[OpenLayers-Users] Open-layers basic question

Hi All,

I am completely new to Open Layers. I would like to fill in colors in
various countries based on a metric value [popularity] for those countries.
How can I achieve this using open layers?

Also, once I click inside the country, I would like to zoom into that
country and show markers for each state inside the country with a
possibility of hover on marker and seeing the popularity value. How can I
achieve this using open layers?
