I'm running an older version of OpenLayers (v1.0). The BBOXes specified look fine when I check the URLs for the misbehaving tiles. I've attached an example image. Like I said, this doesn't happen when OpenLayers talks to GeoServer directly so I'm positive the problem isn't with OpenLayers.

I have noticed the broken images seem to mainly appear on tiles that straddle the bbox but they're not broken consistently. Once I'm zoomed in so nothing is rendered outside the bbox everything seems to render fine. Maybe the problem is in my version of python or the python-imaging library?
