I'm new to openLayers and am curious about the exact software requirements<br>
for using the openLayers API. Specifically I want to access a map from<br>
PostGIS and be able to run functions I have written in PostGIS on it from<br>

Can someone tell me do I require a web mapping server such as MS4W to do<br>
this? I have read some of the documents on the openLayers web site but there<br>
does not seem to be any that specifically answer this question.<br>
