Static as in a raster image? so i have to create an image of my legend and then just load it into openlayers using the "div"? now how can i make a div and populate it with my legend entries?<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">

</div>Sure, but then you'd have to have static, already rendered images for<br>
your map legend. In fact, you don't even need the OpenLayers API for<br>
this approach. Just make a div and populate it with your legend<br>
entries.<br>
