 Sorry, just tested on a fresh qgis/osgeo4w install under windows Seven
 (just gdal16) and it doesn't work. I also launched manually gdal16.bat but
 apparently with no effects. Both from the command line and the plugin the
 message is always like

 ImportError: No module named gdal
