[osgeo4w-dev] spatialindex1.dll not found?

Folks,

I just did a routine upgrade (after not doing so for a month or two) on
my OSGeo4W and during "CRS synchronization" which I assume is a QGIS install
step I get the popup saying "...because spatialindex1.dll was not found...".

Is this is a known problem?
