<DIV>Hi</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Last Fall I downloaded the OSGEO4w install and installed it in advanced
mode on Win 7.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>When I used the QGis dxf2shp plugin, on a dxf file that had been
exploded, I was able to create a shapefile of all points and all text for
all the blocks and non block text.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I used this tool a number of times quite successfully.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Then, I had and error message about ippj-5.3.dll missing from the
computer.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>After a new download the DXF2SHP didn't work as well. It will not import
the text contained in the blocks nor does it import the block point to the
shapefile. The only text and accompanying points are non block features.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>To try to highlight the time period between these OSGEO4w installation
downloads </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>- the newest download does not have Spit available even though the plugin
manager has spit selected.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>- in the old download Spit was readily available and I was able to access
it.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I checked earlier versions of QGis standalone (1.7.3, 1.7.2, 1.7.0, 1.4( no
grass)). None of these applications were able to import the block text and
points. 1.7.3 does not have Spit accessible – even though the plugin manager has
it selected</DIV>
