Hi,

+1 to use gitlab.com as our main hosting solution and move to OSGeo 
(GitLab based) infrastructure if and when it is available.
Github could be used as a mirror for visibility to a huge community of 
developers.
I would like to volunteer to manage migration and synchronization 
between branches and forks.
