ok, OpenLayers 2.9.1 installed via script on a VM here<br /><br />works fine,
including the demo folder<br />
so the task now is to just expose the demo in some straightfroward way..<br />
suggestions welcome<br />

into the install script tells me that it installs version 2.8. Currently
OpenLayers is 2.9.1.</div>
