<p>Hi all:</p>
<p>I didn't have time to get a revised install_spatialite.sh
uploaded in time for alpha4. Maybe next time. </p>
<p>However, new problems have cropped up with spatialite: Ubuntu
released an updated deb for libspatialite (in line with DebianGIS)
however they have not yet updated the CLI program itself in the
package spatialite-bin. This leads to (from the main_install.log):</p>
<p>libspatialite3 set to manually installed.<br>
libspatialite3 : Breaks: spatialite-bin (< 3.0.0-1~) but
3.0.0~beta20110817-3 is to be installed</p>
<p>so we now have the libspatialite updated to 3.1.0, but *no CLI
program* :-(<br>
</p>
<p>I entered a ticket on the ubuntugis trac [1], and got a response
that is should be fixed "really soon".</p>
<p>Regards,</p>

Since feature freeze (beta1) is planned for July 10, I am
thinking that we should build one last alpha until then.
<br>
I propose to release this last alpha next weekend (23-24 June)
and give projects the chance this week to become more active,
since there are not many things fixed from alpha3.

<br>
Thoughts?
