Developers can install software manually to test it on the current version.</div><div>Online documentation has to reflect current release, but nothing forbid to prepare the next one. We won't ship any new isos until next summer.</div><br>How to install manually QGIS 3.4 in OSGeoLive 12.0 (tested on a VM): <div><br></div><div>Add this line to /etc/apt/sources.list: </div><div>deb <a href="https://qgis.org/ubuntu">https://qgis.org/ubuntu</a> bionic main </div><div><br></div><div>Then sudo apt update (had the key from ubuntu keyserver if necessary - see QGIS docs)<br>Last step then you are done: </div><div>sudo apt dist-upgrade</div><div><br></div><div>Please note that by its design, OSGeoLive should not be updated as updating a project can break another project dependencies. We make sure our overview and quickstart docs match the project
version on OSGeoLive. I'm expecting our next OSGeoLive release
will move QGIS up to the next 3.x release, however, that decision
will be confirmed during our next build cycle.
