Hi All,

In preparations for tomorrow's GIS users meetings, the Ministry of
Mines, Energy and Rural Electrification GIS server is online and you can
visit it to check out some of the things Carlos Tatapu and our team will
be talking about tomorrow.

There is still a lot more content to be added but here is something to
start with and work is ongoing, click here http://202.1.180.107/

Further to that, you can also find information on the Pacific Chapter of
Open Source GeoSpatial Foundation here
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Pacific_Islands_Chapter that has link to
above initiative.

The beauty of this system is that it is transferable can be replicated
at any government ministry or utility or non-profit and its fully Open
Source.

In view of a National GIS for the Solomon Islands, this is a great
avenue to be adopted and we have local capacity here to carry it
through, namely Mr. Brian Pitakia, Mr. Carlos Tatapu and Mr. Japhliet
Rouhanna.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Best regards,

Edwin
