Hi Yasir,<div><br><div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex;">I have some bike routes data that I would like to insert to the 'ways' table in my pgrouting database.<br>
For routing using the added routes, do I need to run assign_vertex_id again?<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>If you can ensure that you keep a valid topology you don't have to run it again. But probably it's easier to do so.</div>
<div><br></div><div> </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex;"><br>Also, there are existing streets where the bike routes would be added, would this be any problem?<br>
</blockquote><div><br></div><div>You might have a problem if nodes get very close to existing ones. they might "snap" if you set your "tolerance" value too high.</div><div>Also I'm not sure you want to create new roads beside existing ones. Probably you would like to try to match your bike routes with existing roads. </div>
