[postgis-devel] postgis-0.9.2 regress

hi strk,

as promised, i'm trying to backport the postgis-1.0.4 test suite to
postgis-0.9.2.

could you please point me to a list of functions and datatypes that
should work in one of the versions only, or should i lower annalyze
(lw)postgis.sql?

i have a quite wild idea:
what about making the geometry representation in the database
parametric, so that geometry columns would be read/saved with
appropriate routines for each type?
this way, there would not be any database breackage with any major upgrade.
and even more important, newer geometry libraries may be used, such as
libgrass and there is a non-free academic library i can't recall.
