[postgis-devel] spatial_ref_sys and GEOMETRY_COLUMNS no longer appear in information_schema.tables (1.4.0)

Hi,
Since upgrading to 8.4.0 / 1.4.0 I no longer see the tables spatial_ref_sys and geometry_columns in information_schema.tables. However, a \dt still shows them. I need a way of programmatically determining whether these tables are present in the DB. Is there a better way of doing this than inspecting information_schema.tables?
