 Paul, what do U exactly means with "on a pgsql"?

 Anyways, I just restored the dbase, changed shared_buffers from 32MB to
 64MB, ran the Jmeter test (that probably would die within 1000-2000
 samples), and it ran for 50.000 samples untill I stopped it (my
 workstation becomes totaly unusable (m$)).

 Are we seeing a "out of memory situation"?
