 Okay putting in the similar fix you did for raster fixed the test api
 issue.

 patched at r7774

 can people who are setup to compile and test raster verify my change
 didn't break anything.

 I'm going to test on my 8.4 and 9.1 installs and if those pass, then I'll
 close this ticket out.
