 what's the easiest way to tell once its compiled.  I'm pretty sure its ON
 since its the one I've been testing with where I said the size of the
 geometries was bigger.  Wouldn't a bigger geometry suggest GSERIALIZED ON
 or is there a better way.

 I also assume it is because I remember when I swapped binaries with one
 GSERIALIZE ON or off I get weird errors since the two geometry types are
 incompatible.
