 The [source:trunk/configure.ac at 6404#L800 configure.ac:800] should not only
 check for GDAL, but should also try to determine availability of GDAL
 Python bindings built with
 [http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/wiki/GdalOgrInPython NumPy support].

 NumPy is required by the raster2pgsql.py script
