I get many (same?) failures with 9.1.2 and --enable-cassert as well.
Don't remember having seen these with a build w/out --enable-cassert.

 PostgreSQL 9.1.2 on x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu, compiled by gcc (Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5) 4.4.3, 64-bit
 Postgis 2.0.0SVN - 2012-01-04 20:00:52
   GEOS: 3.3.2dev-CAPI-1.7.2
   PROJ: Rel. 4.7.1, 23 September 2009
   GDAL: GDAL 1.9dev, released 2011/01/18

First failure is a crash in rt_asgdalraster_expected, more follow.
