Okay You do that.  I tried doing that and seemed to ignore my setting.  Perhaps I put in the wrong spot.

Prefix does not work.  Doesn’t' seem to do anything. It just whines about how I shouldn't be using prefix cause things will be installed in postgresql directory

But yet I have this annoying liblwgeom insisting on installing itself in my /usr/local /lib and putting an include file in /usr/local/include.
I have nothing in these folders except these bastards which I'm constantly deleting.

I think Paul has complained about this too how it screws up his checking cause he has to run make install all the time otherwise some old version of liblwgeom is what he ends up testing.
