What matrix are you looking.  Looks to agree with what you are saying.

In fact says 2.2 supports thru 9.6

According to the wiki [1] PostGIS 2.2 supports only up to PostgreSQL 9.1,
but Dronie [2] shows it actually supports up to PostgreSQL 9.5.

Similarly 2.3 and 2.4 are confirmed by Dronie [3,4] to support up to
PostgreSQL 10.

Should we update the wiki ?
