 The data set I am testing on is 171 mb. I will try to catch the effect in
 a smaller scale or from generating the numbers.

 I also think that the differnce is actually bigger because what I am doing
 is writing all geometries from the data set to a new table. So, some of
 the 3000 ms is just disc writing and unchanged between the two cases.
