 The fix for this in GEOS 3.12 was in
 [https://github.com/libgeos/geos/pull/774 GEOS 774].  I'll be backporting
 it to 3.11 and 3.10.

 To be clear, this only affects mixed-type geometry collections with point
 elements.  So the problem should be fairly rare in practice.
