 For the case described in https://gitlab.com/nibioopensource/resolve-
 overlap-and-gap/-/issues/73 we have `ST_Intersects(ST_Buffer())` taking
 70ms instead of 23 seconds. I don't know if it will be always faster but
 sounds like something worth testing.
