 Yes the speed improvement is impressive but there are two downsides:
   1. Current {{{ ST_Subdivide }}} introduces new vertices (preventing
 which was the topic of #4683)
   2. The resulting topology has more nodes and edges than strictly
 required (not necessarely a bad thing)
