This might help.  I was meaning to update it to describe how to use the
latest build of postgis and how to upgrade an existing database, but I
haven't gotten around to that yet.

If you want to use the latest, then don't choose to install postgis like
mentioned in the article, but use this install after installing
postgresql.

Appreciate links to tutorials installing postgis on win32.

I have ArcGIS Desktop but becoming clear that PostGIS will be a more
elegantly simple and powerful backend server vs. anything else out
there.

Just starting,  easy to use win32 workstation to first test ideas for
the eventual enterprise level...
