[postgis-users] Ready to go - points to line layer connectors

Dassouki,

Not quite sure what you are looking for. When you say layer, do you mean a
table geometry field against another table geometry field and if so what
relation do these two things have in common. Do they share an attribute in
common, are they located next to each other etc.

Connecting points to make a line would be done with the

ST_MakeLine function, but I gather you are asking for something more
involved. Just not clear what that is.

http://postgis.refractions.net/documentation/manual-1.4/ST_MakeLine.html

Perhaps if you can provide a simple real world description of why you are
trying to do this then people can better relate to your problem.

Hope that helps,
Regina

Subject: [postgis-users] Ready to go - points to line layer connectors

Hello PostGIS,

I was wondering if anyone is aware or has a script that connects points from
a certain layer to the vertices or edges of another layer?
The output should be a new line layer

Cheers,
dassouki
