[postgis-users] class wrapper for indexed nearest neighbor

I'm curious if anyone has worked on, or is in the process of working on, 
a python class wrapper that performs PostGIS' indexed nearest neighbor 
routine that would be compliant within a MVC controller context - e.g. 
within a framework like geodjango.  The geodjango SpatialQuery API 
routines are somewhat limited in the area of distance searche routines..
