[postgis-users] compiling from source code

I get the same error running on Ubuntu 16.04 with:

$ gcc -V
gcc: error: unrecognized command line option ā€˜-Vā€™
gcc: fatal error: no input files
compilation terminated.

Looks like the option should be --version
$ gcc --version
gcc (Ubuntu 5.4.0-6ubuntu1~16.04.4) 5.4.0 20160609
