<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">There have been a few chains going around about using postgis to geo</FONT><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">-</FONT><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">code against Tiger data. I know that there are some scripts available already, but I just thought I would post what we have running now</FONT><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial"> and see what people thought.</FONT><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial"> These scripts were originated from the scripts</FONT> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">found under Tiger Geocoder at</FONT> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial"><A HREF="http://postgis.refractions.net/download/" TARGET="_blank">http://postgis.refractions.net/download/</A></FONT><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">. </FONT> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">There are some enhancements left to do, but this</FONT> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">is the first generation of the scripts and they do work for most cases. You can see the power of this geocoder at</FONT> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial"><A HREF="http://hud.uai.com/hudpls/ViewMap.aspx?FindAddTI=1" TARGET="_blank">http://hud.uai.com/hudpls/ViewMap.aspx?FindAddTI=1</A></FONT><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">. This is doing a live geo-coded search as the user types</FONT><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial"> for the entire US (~39 million roads)</FONT><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">. At this time we are returning the top 12</FONT> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">hits as the user types. This is done by using a modified version of the Ajax</FONT> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">AutoComplete control.</FONT></P>
