Thanks - talk about not seeing the forest for the trees!   I'll have to address this by storing WGS-84 in their UTM specific<br>grid SRID instead. find_utm_srid(geometry) function will be useful.   Distance measurements that span a UTM grid will have to calculate  geodetically.<br>
